The extraordinary announcement to be delivered by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, described as an ‘extraordinary’ tribute to Malaysians, will be made on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Anwar said he needed more time to look into the matter following the resignation of the unity government in Port Dickson yesterday.
He said these concerns required him to consider the necessary changes and announcements to assuage their demands.
Anwar said that while the government believed its plans had been implemented well, feedback from the ground suggested there were still gaps.
The complaints at the grassroots level were a little different, partly due to politics causing misinformation and reflecting the true feelings of the people.
He had previously hinted that the announcement was related to the government’s efforts to help the people cope with the rising cost of living.
Anwar recently sparked public interest after posting a ‘mysterious’ post on his official Facebook page.
