Malaysia has joined the Bogota Emergency Conference in Colombia on 15-16 July with 30 countries, organised by The Hague Group to coordinate legal and diplomatic action on the Gaza issue.
According to The Hague Group Secretariat, the conference played a role in strengthening international support for the principles of justice and accountability for the Palestinian people.
The group also pledged to comply with the interim measures of the International Court of Justice (ICJ), prevent the transfer of arms to Israel and block military ships from docking at the ports of member states.
United Nations (UN) special rapporteur Francesca Albanese described the conference as a historic moment, an important turning point and one that will be remembered for all time.
The conference was held following the formation of The Hague Group earlier this year by eight countries, namely Malaysia, Namibia, Senegal, South Africa, Cuba, Honduras, Colombia and Bolivia.
Other participating countries include Brazil, Indonesia, Namibia, South Africa, Spain, Senegal, Qatar, Cuba, China, Honduras and Colombia as the host.
