US Delays Delivery of Weapons to Ukraine as Stocks Dwindle

The United States has reportedly delayed some deliveries of air defense missiles and precision weapons to Ukraine over concerns about the country's dwindling stockpiles.

According to Reuters, the delay involves interceptor missiles used to repel Russian drone and missile attacks, which are part of a military aid commitment signed during the administration of former President Joe Biden.

In an emailed statement, the Pentagon said it was presenting President Donald Trump with several options for continuing military assistance to Ukraine, in line with the goal of ending the conflict sparked by Russia.

At the same time, the Defense Department is reviewing and adapting existing approaches to ensure that these objectives are achieved, without compromising the level of readiness of the US military in line with current defense priorities, according to Deputy Secretary of Defense for Policy Elbridge Colby.

Meanwhile, the conflict on the battlefield between Russia and Ukraine continues to escalate, with Russia now controlling nearly a fifth of Ukraine's territory.

The advance of his troops reportedly continues, especially in the southeastern regions such as Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk, in addition to increased airstrikes in several other areas throughout the country.

The question now is, is this delay really due to a lack of weapons stocks, or does it actually reflect President Trump's stance, which is seen as more 'friendly' with the Kremlin?
