Tesla CEO Elon Musk's Starlink internet network has been experiencing outages affecting users around the world.

Online outage monitoring site Downdetector reported that SpaceX's internet outage began around 1:30 p.m. ET.

The outages were across the United States (US) including Dallas, San Francisco, Phoenix, Chicago, Atlanta, Minneapolis and Washington DC as well as parts of South America, the United Kingdom (UK) and Australia.

The situation has frustrated many users with some sharing on the X platform that this is the second incident in recent weeks.

Users have also reported slow internet connections, frequent service interruptions and complete blackouts.

Musk has also previously stated that profits from Starlink will be used to fund human missions to Mars.

While the company's daily revenue is uncertain, any widespread service outage risks jeopardizing its aspirations for the planet.

Analysts estimate Starlink's profits at $150 billion based on revenue projections and current market conditions, although no official confirmation has been announced.
