A total of RM492 billion has been allocated by the government through the 2025 Budget to implement the national reform agenda which includes various aspects of administration and development.
Of this amount, RM335 billion is for operating expenses, while RM86 billion is allocated for development. In addition, RM69 billion is provided for non-fiscal allocations and RM2 billion for contingency savings.
The government emphasizes that this allocation focuses on efforts to reduce the cost of living of the people, strengthen the agriculture and fisheries sectors, stimulate economic growth, encourage entrepreneurship and improve the quality of life of the community through the upgrading of dilapidated schools and clinics.
At the same time, the establishment of the Special Task Force on Reform (STAR) was implemented as a specific mechanism to accelerate the reform agenda by reducing bureaucratic red tape, reviewing outdated regulations and strengthening the country's competitiveness.
STAR also plays a role in establishing cooperation with various parties to increase productivity and efficiency of public services.
The Madani government emphasizes that this reform effort is not political rhetoric, cosmetic or short-term, but rather an ongoing process that is implemented comprehensively for the well-being of the people and the sustainability of national development.
