MNRB Holdings Bhd recorded a net profit of RM168.43 million for the first quarter ended June 30, 2025, an increase of 82.7% compared to RM92.20 million last year.
MNRB explained that this strong performance was driven by growth in income in insurance and takaful including positive claims experience in the insurance and retakaful segments.
The firm's income also increased to RM975.56 million from RM857.58 million supported by stronger contributions from the general reinsurance and takaful businesses.
Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Rudy Rodzilla Che Lamin said income from insurance and takaful services surged by 223.5% following strong revenue growth.
Rudy also said that the improvement reflected better claims in the reinsurance segment as a result of underwriting discipline and risk diversification and validated the transformation efforts for long-term value.
The group also recorded investment income of RM165 million in the first quarter of financial year 2026, an increase of 23.5% compared to 133.6 million in the same period last year.
This quarterly performance increased the annual return on equity (ROE) to 17.8% from 11.1% in the first quarter of 2025, reflecting higher capital productivity and shareholder value.
