Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen described Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu as a ‘problem’ for the world.
Frederiksen stressed that she would try to pressure Israel over the issue of the war in Gaza as Denmark currently holds the presidency of the European Union (EU).
Frederiksen also condemned the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, which she described as ‘terrible and reaching catastrophic levels’ and criticized new settlement projects in the West Bank.
She also intends to consider political pressure and sanctions against settlers, ministers or Israel as a whole, including possible trade or research restrictions.
The leader explained that Denmark did not rule out any initial options and was drafting sanctions against the most influential parties, while stressing that the country does not intend to recognize Palestine.
Gaza’s civil defense agency also reported that at least 39 people were killed in the Israeli attack.
The attacks have intensified since the regime army signaled new orders urging civilians to leave Gaza city ahead of another attack.
