After more than 500 days of negotiations, Muar Member of Parliament, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman finally received an official allocation of RM200,000 from the Federal government.
The development was shared through a video post lasting more than a minute on his TikTok platform, which received various reactions from the public including congratulations and joy for his tireless efforts to fight for the rights of the Muar Parliamentary constituency.
However, the video also sparked debate when the conditions for using the allocation were clearly displayed, thus inviting various questions among netizens.
According to Syed Saddiq, the allocation of RM200,000 can only be used for administrative matters of the Parliament office such as rent payments, staff salaries, purchase of equipment and daily management.
He explained that the funds are not allowed to be used for the welfare of the people, infrastructure repairs or any form of contribution to local residents.
In fact, the use of the allocation is also subject to strict conditions and will be fully audited.
Syed Saddiq also compared the amount with the allocation received by the government bloc MPs, which he said could reach up to RM20 million for a term. The significant difference raises questions about fairness and transparency in the distribution of area development funds.
Despite facing official constraints, Syed Saddiq still stressed his commitment to continue serving the people of Muar.
In fact, in the past six months alone, he has managed to raise more than RM2 million through various initiatives and personal efforts for the welfare of the local community.
He described the challenge as a motivation to continue innovating and working hard, while emphasizing his belief that when one door closes, ten more will open.
