The retail price of RON97 petrol and diesel in Peninsular Malaysia has increased by three sen per liter each for the period from August 28 to September 3.
In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Finance announced that the new price of RON97 is set at RM3.16 per liter compared to RM3.13 per liter the previous week.
According to the ministry, the retail price of RON95 petrol is maintained at RM2.05 per liter, while the price of diesel in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan is also unchanged, at RM2.15 per liter.
The price adjustment is made based on the Automatic Pricing Method (APM) formula which takes into account movements in world oil market prices.
MOF also explained that the retail price of diesel in Peninsular Malaysia remains lower than the floating price on June 10, 2024, which is RM3.35 per liter.
The government will continue to monitor market conditions and coordinate the retail prices of RON97 petrol and diesel by taking into account changes in world oil prices, as well as ensuring price stability.
