The Phase 3 payment of the Rahmah Cash Contribution (STR) will begin to be credited to 8.6 million recipients nationwide starting Tuesday.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the payment involves an allocation of RM2 billion to help ease the burden of the cost of living of low-income people.
Anwar said the number of phase 3 recipients had increased by 300,000 compared to 8.3 million phase 1 recipients in January, as a result of the opening of applications and appeals throughout the year.
He also explained that STR serves as an injection of support for recipients to help achieve financial independence and realize the goal of equality in the Civil Economy.
The payment will be credited in stages directly to the recipient's bank account, while those who do not have a bank account can claim it at Bank Simpanan Nasional (BSN) branches.
If the applicant's name is not in the STR database, they need to submit an application to enable the verification process according to the STR eligibility category before it is finalized.
