Vietnamese Ambassador to Malaysia, Dich Ngoc Linh, stressed Hanoi's commitment to strengthening ties with Kuala Lumpur and is proud to be Malaysia's comprehensive strategic partner in Southeast Asia.
According to Dich, November 2024 marks a historic moment when Vietnam and Malaysia agreed to upgrade their relations to the level of Comprehensive Strategic Partner during the visit of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam to Malaysia.
He also stressed that the established framework of cooperation has created an important foundation and direction for bilateral relations in the new era.
The cooperation is based on several key pillars, including strengthening political, defense and security ties and enhancing economic connectivity for sustainable development.
Other key pillars include expanding cooperation in new areas such as digital transformation, renewable energy, and strengthening coordination on international and multilateral issues.
The statement was made when he spoke at a reception in conjunction with the celebration of Vietnam's 80th National Day.
The reception was also attended by Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan as the guest of honour along with ambassadors, members of the diplomatic corps, high commissioners, senior officials and representatives of Malaysian ministries and organisations.
