Several loud explosions reportedly rocked the Qatari capital, shortly after Israel told The Associated Press that it had targeted Hamas leaders in Doha.
Initially, Israel did not specify the location of the airstrike, but recent developments have linked it to the situation.
According to witnesses quoted by Reuters, several loud explosions were heard in the capital Doha with thick black smoke rising near the Legtifya gas station.
In the adjacent area, there is a small settlement that has been tightly guarded by the Qatari Emir's Guard since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict.
Al Jazeera, citing Hamas sources, reported that the attack targeted a Hamas negotiating team that was meeting to discuss the latest ceasefire offer from the United States (US).
Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baqaei stressed that the attack was a clear violation of international law and a serious threat to the security of the country's people.
The Qatari government also condemned Israel's actions as 'cowardly' and described them as a blatant violation of international law.
