Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi announced that Malaysia's halal exports reached $7 billion, equivalent to 16.1% of the country's exports in the first half of 2025.

He stated that key products including food, beverages, halal ingredients and palm oil derivatives were exported to markets such as Singapore, China, Indonesia, Japan and the United States (US).

Ahmad Zahid said this achievement was the result of collaborative efforts, where the government provided governance, companies invested in scale, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) innovated and scholars ensured values and standards were adhered to.

He also explained that more than 10,000 companies that obtained halal certification contributed to Malaysia's global halal footprint.

Malaysia is currently strengthening the halal ecosystem through digitalization, tourism, halal parks, logistics integration and traceability to ensure an efficient and resilient halal system in the future.

With the Halal Industry Master Plan (HIMP) 2030 as the roadmap, the government is determined to sustain growth, strengthen international relations and remain globally competitive.

The statement was made when he attended the World Halal Business Conference (WHBC) 2025 yesterday.

WHBC is the premier global platform for halal thought leadership, bringing together policymakers, industry leaders and experts to shape the future of the halal economy, in line with Malaysia's HIMP 2030.
