Strategy, a publicly traded company founded by Bitcoin enthusiast Michael Saylor, is the world’s largest corporate holder of BTC. The company has a tradition of announcing crypto purchases every Monday, and today was no exception.
The firm revealed on its official X account that it bought 196 BTC worth about $22.1 million at an average price of $113,048 per BTC. With that, the total holdings have increased to 640,031 BTC acquired at a cost of about $47.35 billion.
The USD equivalent value of the holdings is over $71.7 billion, meaning Strategy now has an unrealized gain of about $24.35 billion. Furthermore, Strategy’s holdings represent 3.2% of the circulating supply of BTC.
This latest purchase is much smaller than previous ones. Last week, the company announced the purchase of 850 BTC for almost $100 million, while last summer it made several purchases worth billions of dollars.
