PETRONAS has informed that there is no impact on liquefied natural gas (LNG) operations and no supply disruption at its LNG facility in Bintulu, Sarawak.
The national oil company has also taken note of the National Security Council (MKN) announcement regarding the security risk at the facility.
PETRONAS stressed that it takes this matter seriously and is working with the authorities to assess and address the situation.
The safety and well-being of workers, contractors and the community around the LNG facility remains the company's top priority.
The government has instructed all LNG facilities in Bintulu to tighten security controls following the security threat to the facility.
MKN reminded the public not to speculate on the statement and stressed that any developments will be communicated from time to time.
The national security agency is prepared for any eventuality and has taken control measures to address the security threat.
