Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that local people will enjoy RON95 petrol at a price of RM1.99 compared to RM2.05 per litre, starting September 30 regardless of income level.
The initiative is being implemented under the BUDI MADANI RON95 (BUDI95) programme.
Anwar stated that for non-citizens, the price of RON95 is set at RM2.60 starting September 30.
The targeting of the BUDI95 subsidy will start on September 30, where all citizens will be eligible to enjoy the price of RM1.99 per litre, while the price at the pump for those who are not eligible will be adjusted to the non-subsidised price.
The statement was delivered when he gave a message at the Monthly Assembly with the Prime Minister's Department staff today.
As a token of appreciation, police and military personnel will start enjoying the price of RM1.99 per liter starting Saturday, 27 September 2025.
B40 group receiving the Sumbang Tunai Rahmah (STR) can start enjoying the price of RM1.99 per liter on Sunday, 28 September 2025 as a preparatory step for the implementation of the RON95 mechanism in stages.
Malaysians are eligible to use 300 liters of RON95 per month under the BUDI95 initiative, while e-hailing drivers can apply for an unlimited additional quota.
The MADANI government has also stipulated that all citizens with a valid driving license are eligible to receive the RON95 subsidy regardless of economic means.
