Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will continue his third-day visit to China to deepen strategic ties and expand trade cooperation.

Anwar is scheduled to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People to strengthen the long-standing Kuala Lumpur-Beijing ties.

This meeting is the fourth time the two leaders have met face-to-face after meeting in Putrajaya during Xi's state visit to Malaysia in April.

After that, Anwar will hold a bilateral meeting with Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang, before attending a special dinner hosted by Li at the Diaoyutai State Guesthouse.

According to Malaysian Ambassador to China Datuk Norman Muhamad, the dinner is the only exclusive event hosted by the Chinese government for foreign leaders visiting the country during that period.

Anwar's agenda today also includes meetings with JD.com, China's largest e-commerce retailer serving over 580 million shoppers, as well as the China Semiconductor Industry Association (CSIA).

He is also scheduled to attend the Malaysia-China Business and Economic Dialogue which brings together 180 Chinese business and industry leaders from various economic sectors.

The Prime Minister's delegation to China this time is joined by Transport Minister Anthony Loke, Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Investment, Trade and Industry Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz.
