“Your Country Is Going to Hell!” – Trump’s Speech at UN

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday called for a massive reduction in global migration and urged the world to abandon climate change policies in his speech to the UN General Assembly.

A clip of his speech caused a moment of silence as he gave a stern warning to world leaders, saying “Your country is going to hell”.

The 56-minute speech was described as one of his most aggressive, full of criticism of world leaders and the international body.

Trump, who has often attacked the UN during his first term, received a lukewarm applause as he left the chamber.

Much of his speech focused on two of his frequent grievances: immigration and climate change.

Trump portrayed the US’s strict immigration policies as an example that other countries should follow to stem mass migration, which he said was changing the fabric of the country.

The Trump administration also plans to bring a proposal to the UN later this month to drastically limit asylum rights, in a bid to dismantle the humanitarian protection framework established after World War II.

Trump has also rejected the allies' policies supporting the Palestinians as Israel launches its latest offensive in Gaza, and has urged European countries to impose economic sanctions like those he has proposed on Russia to end the war in Ukraine.

He recently met with King Charles at Windsor Castle, calling climate change a hoax and urging the world to return to fossil fuels.

Scientists insist that human-caused climate change is real and growing increasingly alarming.
