Russian Governor Alexander Tsybulsky announced that a 340-carat high-quality diamond was found at a mining site in the Arkhangelsk region, Russia, Xinhua reported.

He said the diamond is among the five largest diamonds ever found in modern Russian history and the largest during the development of the Vladimir Grib (V. Grib) industry.

According to Tsybulsky, the diamond stands out for its size, quality and high market value, with its type accounting for only about 2% of all natural diamonds.

The Vladimir Grib mine is operated by AGD Diamonds, a Russian diamond mining company.

The 340-carat diamond has the potential to achieve a very high sales value on the international market, possibly reaching tens of millions of dollars, depending on further processing and evaluation.

The value of the diamond is expected to have a significant impact on the economy of AGD Diamonds and the Russian mining industry.

Russia is currently the world's largest producer of diamonds in terms of quality, while the Arkhangelsk region is among the country's main diamond mining areas.
