The Budi95 targeted RON95 petrol subsidy initiative has recorded sales worth RM727.7 million as of Wednesday.

This involves more than 10 million Malaysians out of 16 million eligible to receive benefits, which is a participation rate of around 62.5%.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Finance (MOF), the amount is equivalent to 365.7 million litres of petrol purchased at a subsidised price of RM1.99 per litre since the implementation of the initiative.

The implementation began on 27 September 2025 for police and military personnel, then expanded to recipients of the Sumbang Tunai Rahmah (STR) the following day, and finally to all eligible citizens from 30 September.

MOF stated that the response to the targeted subsidy system was very encouraging, with Budi95 transactions increasing, especially on weekends where more than three million transactions were recorded in a day.

He also emphasised the effectiveness of the digital verification system via MyKad at petrol stations, which ran smoothly and consistently.

Continuous monitoring and improvements will be carried out with relevant agencies.
