EPF Voluntary Contributions Reach RM14.13 Billion – MOF

According to the Ministry of Finance (MOF), as of August 2025, a total of 1.12 million members of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) have voluntarily contributed with a total contribution of RM14.13 billion.


In a written reply in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday, the ministry informed that the EPF has provided various channels to make it easier for members to contribute, in an effort to help them build retirement savings.


As of August 2025, a total of 227,000 EPF members have registered to make contributions above the statutory rate for employee contributions.


The statement was made when MOF was responding to a question from Datuk Syed Abu Hussin Hafiz Syed Abdul Faisal (Bukit Gantang) regarding the government's plans to encourage the public to open EPF accounts.


MOF also explained that for the first half of 2025, the i-Saraan program has recorded a total contribution of RM2.8 billion involving 487,375 members.


This represents a 74% increase compared to RM1.6 billion, as well as a 48% increase in the number of members compared to 330,196 members recorded in the first half of 2024.


In addition, a total of 158,000 husbands have participated in the i-Sayang program, with a total contribution transfer of RM309.4 million as of August 2025.
