Malaysia successfully recorded export sales worth RM376.14 million at the 22nd China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) held in Nanning, China recently.
The achievement was achieved through the participation of the Malaysian Pavilion which featured 70 exhibitors from various sectors including education, health, pharmaceuticals, building materials, technology and artificial intelligence.
MATRADE Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Seri Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz said the results proved that Malaysian products and services remain competitive and in high demand in the Chinese and ASEAN markets.
Apart from export sales, more than 30 memorandums of understanding and business agreements were also signed during the event, most of which were the result of negotiations between Malaysian companies and trading partners from the region.
Local products such as durian, white coffee, biscuits, bird's nest and red palm oil were well received, while several Malaysian companies received special recognition from the organisers.
The expo, which took place from September 17 to 21, is seen as an important platform for Malaysian companies to penetrate the Chinese market, as well as strengthening the country's position in the regional trade chain.
