RM10 Billion AI Project – PMX to Chat with Nvidia CEO

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is scheduled to meet Nvidia Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jensen Huang, to discuss the progress of the RM10 billion artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure project in Malaysia.


The two will meet at the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting (AELM) summit in Gyeongju on Friday.


The meeting was also attended by YTL Power International Bhd Managing Director Datuk Seri Yeoh Seok Hong, Nvidia’s main partner in the project, who will update Anwar on the latest developments on the AI ​​project.


The ongoing APEC meeting will see Anwar present Malaysia’s intervention in the economic leaders’ dialogue, with a special focus on digital supply chain development, inclusive digital economy and regional cooperation.


Apart from the meeting with Nvidia, Anwar is expected to hold face-to-face sessions with several companies such as Namhae Chemical and JS Link, as well as attend the official banquet for APEC economic leaders before holding a closing press conference.


In the context of the RM10 billion project, the initiative is expected to involve the construction of large-scale data centres, cloud computing networks and AI facilities that integrate with local industries to enhance the country's competitiveness in the era of Industrial Revolution 4.0.


Malaysia is among the 12 founding members of APEC and is now an important platform for the country to drive digital transformation forward and attract high-tech investments.
