Two US Navy aircraft crashed yesterday in the South China Sea in separate incidents, with no fatalities reported.

According to a statement from the US Navy's Pacific Fleet, the first crash involved an MH-60R Sea Hawk helicopter that crashed in the South China Sea while conducting routine operations from the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz.

The three crew members on board the helicopter were successfully rescued by search and rescue teams.

About half an hour later, a Boeing F/A-18F Super Hornet fighter jet crashed into the South China Sea while conducting routine operations from the USS Nimitz, according to the US Navy.

Both crew members of the jet ejected and were found safe and stable.

The crash occurred during US President Donald Trump's first visit to Asia in his second term, as US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth prepared to begin a tour of several Asian countries.

So far, the US Navy is still investigating the cause of both incidents.
