Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stressed that the administration of US President (US), Donald Trump, is “not qualified” to contact or cooperate with Iran.

The statement was made during an Iranian television session yesterday to celebrate the Basij force, a paramilitary unit under the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

He also denied speculation that Iran had sent a message to Washington, describing it as “pure lies.”

Khamenei also explained that the US and Iran failed to achieve any goals during the 12-day war between Israel and Iran last month.

That month, Israel launched a major bombing campaign on Iran, thus triggering a brief conflict that also involved the US through attacks on several key Iranian nuclear facilities.

Israel’s brutal action prompted Iran to launch a retaliatory attack using missiles and drones in response to the continued attacks on the country.

The situation also derailed nuclear talks between Tehran and Washington that began last April.

However, a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel came into effect on June 24, ending the long-running conflict between the two countries.

After the Iran-Israel war ended, Trump repeatedly claimed that the US attack had destroyed Iran's nuclear program, but the exact extent of the damage has yet to be determined.

Khamenei had previously rejected Trump's claim that Iran's nuclear program had been destroyed, mocking Trump for "keeping dreaming."
