US President Donald Trump has approved a 28-point peace plan to end the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The peace plan was drafted by US officials through negotiations with Russian and Ukrainian officials.
According to NBC news, the process of drafting the plan involved the participation of Trump's special envoys, namely Vice President JD Vance, Steve Witkoff, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the president's son-in-law, Jared Kushner.
Three US officials also informed NBC that the draft plan has not yet been submitted to the Ukrainian side.
The plan is expected to provide security guarantees to both sides, according to senior Trump administration officials.
In addition, the draft was quietly developed through discussions involving Russian envoy Kirill Dmitriev, as well as several Ukrainian officials.
However, Ukraine has not yet received any full and detailed version of the plan.
The finalization of the draft plan coincided with the visit of a US Army delegation to Kyiv last Wednesday, which was seen as an important diplomatic gesture, as well as part of a pressure strategy to accelerate the peace negotiation process.
