The General Authority for Statistics of Saudi Arabia (GASTAT) has announced Umrah statistics for the second quarter of 2025, with a total of 5,443,393 pilgrims from within and outside the country.

Of this number, 3,352,506 pilgrims were men (61.6%), while 2,090,887 pilgrims were women (38.4%), according to a report by the Saudi Arabian News Agency (SPA).

The report showed that 1,090,327 local pilgrims performed Umrah during the period, which is 48.4 percent of the total pilgrims.

Meanwhile, the number of pilgrims arriving from abroad was 1,324,418, including 653,513 men (49.3%) and 670,905 women (50.7%).

In terms of entry points, 71.6% of foreign pilgrims arrived by air, 28.2% by land, and 0.2% by sea.

Umrah statistics are released regularly to provide accurate data on the number of visitors from both home and abroad, thus becoming an important reference to support policies and planning related to umrah and pilgrimage services.

Authorities have stressed that the increase in the number of pilgrims is supported by investments in transport infrastructure and accommodation in the holy land.

Initial analysis shows that the peak umrah season is now increasing throughout the year, in contrast to the traditional pattern of being concentrated in a particular month.
