Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Saar yesterday urged Jews in Western countries to move to Israel.

This call was made following the alarming increase in anti-Semitism, especially after the shooting incident that claimed the lives of 15 people at a cultural event in Sydney.

Saar also explained that every Jew has the right to live a safe life regardless of their location.

However, he stressed that the current situation shows that the Jewish community is now facing increasingly serious threats around the world.

Since the outbreak of the conflict in Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israeli leaders have expressed concern about the increase in anti-Semitic sentiment in Western countries.

Israel also pointed the finger at these governments for allegedly being less effective in dealing with the spread of this dangerous sentiment.

Australian authorities confirmed that the attack at a Hanukkah party on Bondi Beach, Sydney on December 14 was inspired by the ideology of the Daesh terrorist group.

The incident sparked a strong reaction from Israeli leaders and reinforced calls for Jews to seek safer places to live.

On Tuesday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also urged Western governments to take more proactive steps to protect Jewish citizens in their countries.

Under Israel's 1950 Law of Return, every Jew around the world has the right to settle in Israel and obtain citizenship.

The law also covers individuals with at least one Jewish grandparent.

The move is seen as Israel's effort to ensure the safety and rights of the Jewish community amid rising global tensions.
