Finnish President Alexander Stubb yesterday explained that Europe is now able to defend itself without the help of the United States (US).
He also explained that Finland has the largest military force with high Arctic capabilities in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) military alliance.
In an interview at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, Stubb stated that Europe will find a solution to the Greenland issue.
Stubb also revealed that Finland and Poland have the largest artillery force in Europe, including long-range missiles on land, sea and air.
When asked about the country's ability to face the Russian threat, Stubb stressed Finland's readiness to defend itself through the largest Arctic military force in the alliance.
With one million trained citizens, Finland is able to mobilize 280,000 personnel in a short period of time, in addition to being reinforced with 62 F-18 fighter jets.
On diplomatic issues, he believes that the crisis involving the US claim to Greenland, as well as the threat of trade tariffs on European countries, can be resolved through negotiation channels.
However, the conflict between the European Union (EU) and the US appears to be easing after the EU reportedly approved Washington's deal to take over Greenland.
This development has the potential to cancel President Donald Trump's plan to impose tariffs on European countries.
