North Korean leader Kim Jong Un vowed to provide continued strong support for the policies of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The development was reported by North Korean media as Pyongyang and Moscow are now seen to be increasingly active in establishing military cooperation.
According to the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA), through a letter, Kim expressed his commitment to respect and support Putin's policies unconditionally, and to always stand firmly behind the Russian leader.
In the letter, Kim also described his friendship with Putin as a matter of pride and great value.
He also added that the letter from Putin is an expression of friendship and trust in himself and the North Korean people.
At the same time, Kim expressed his gratitude and wished greater success to all the important efforts led by Putin.
The letter was sent to Putin the previous day in response to a congratulatory message sent by the Russian leader.
To date, there is no official information on the exact date the letter was sent, although there is a possibility that it was sent in conjunction with Kim Jong Un's birthday.
