Nvidia Corp, Microsoft Corp and Amazon.com Inc are reportedly in talks to invest up to $60 billion in OpenAI as part of a new, large-scale funding round, according to a report by The Information citing sources familiar with the talks.

The investment is expected to contribute to a funding round of up to $100 billion, with Nvidia in talks to invest up to $30 billion, while Microsoft is considering an investment of less than $10 billion.

Amazon, as a new investor, could commit more than $10 billion to more than $20 billion.

The large funding round is seen as able to ease investor concerns about OpenAI's aggressive spending, while maintaining the momentum of investment in the artificial intelligence sector that has the potential to change the landscape of the industry and the global economy.

However, Wall Street analysts have warned of the risk of an investment bubble, driven by a cycle of deals involving large investments in potential customers to maintain demand for its own products.

The latest investment is in addition to SoftBank Group Corp's plan to commit around $30 billion to OpenAI.

Meanwhile, the size of Amazon's investment is expected to depend on other deals being negotiated, including potential collaborations on chip usage and cloud computing services. Amazon previously announced a deal to provide $38 billion worth of cloud capacity to OpenAI over seven years.

In a related development, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman also met with major investors in the Middle East to arrange additional funding for a new investment round that could potentially reach at least $50 billion.

OpenAI is reportedly targeting a valuation of around $750 billion to $830 billion, but negotiations are still in the early stages and subject to change.
