Russian President Vladimir Putin has responded to the invitation of US President Donald Trump to join the 'Peace Board', a new international organization established to address regional conflicts including the Israeli-Palestinian issue.

Putin explained that Russia is now ready to contribute $1 billion to the council using Russian assets frozen in the US.

He made the announcement in a speech to the Russian Security Council yesterday.

According to RT media reports, Russia can provide $1 billion immediately, although they have not yet made a decision on participation in the peace board.

He also stated that the funds can be taken from Russian assets that have been frozen by the US administration before.

The establishment of the organization focuses on peace in the Middle East region, especially involving the reconstruction of Gaza and meeting humanitarian needs in Palestine.

At the same time, Putin also expressed his gratitude to Trump for the invitation to the humanitarian organization.

However, Putin needs more time to study the offer, as well as consult with other Russian strategic partners.

The formation of the Gaza Peace Council is part of Phase 2 of the 20-Point Peace Plan which aims to end the conflict in the Middle East, thus establishing stability and overseeing post-conflict reconstruction in the Gaza Strip.

The Peace Council was proposed by Trump in September last year as part of a plan to end the war in Gaza, as well as serve as a mediator for the wider global conflict.
