Wolfe Research: Trump's Tariff Threats Risk US-EU Trade Deal!

Wolfe Research analysts have warned that US President Donald Trump's latest tariff threats against several European countries could derail a trade deal between Washington and the European Union.

The EU has signaled that the deal signed in July cannot be ratified as long as Trump seeks to acquire Greenland, a move considered geopolitically sensitive.

Trump has threatened to impose 10% tariffs on eight European countries, with the tariff rate potentially rising to 25% in June if the US fails to buy the territory.

Ahead of an emergency summit in Brussels, the EU is reportedly considering significant retaliation that could include tariffs worth tens of billions of euros and the use of anti-coercive trade tools.

While there are signs that Trump may be less aggressive on tariffs in other sectors, analysts stress that the trade landscape remains complex and uncertain.
