Lembaga Tabung Haji (TH) has now officially emerged as the major shareholder of AEON Co (M) Bhd following a new acquisition in the retail and shopping operator.
Tabung Haji successfully surpassed the 5% exposure threshold following the acquisition of 250,000 shares representing an additional 0.018% stake last Tuesday.
According to the company's stock exchange filing yesterday, the latest purchase has increased Tabung Haji's total holding in AEON Co to 5.0135 or approximately 70.39 million shares.
Apart from Tabung Haji, the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is also a major shareholder of AEON Co with 7.618 stakes.
Meanwhile, its parent company, AEON Co Ltd remains AEON's largest shareholder after owning a 52.02% stake.
Over the past month, Tabung Haji has also returned to being the major shareholder in SKP Resources Bhd with a 5.092% stake after more than 10 years, in addition to holding 5.006% in the newly listed Orkim Bhd.
AEON Co shares closed at RM1.33, up one sen or 0.76%, giving the group a market value of RM1.87 billion.
