Azerbaijan has delivered 82 tons of additional humanitarian aid to its neighbor, Iran, in a shipment involving five trucks, according to a report by the APA news agency.
The aid includes 76 tons of food along with 6 tons of medicines and essential medical supplies.
The delivery was carried out on the orders of President Ilham Aliyev, who previously ordered more than 25 tons of aid to be delivered to Iran.
The humanitarian aid arrives at a time of heightened regional tensions following a joint attack by the United States (US) and Israel on Iran in late February.
In a series of incidents, Iran has launched attacks on Israeli territory and US military bases across the Middle East.
Despite causing property destruction and civilian deaths, Washington and Tel Aviv described the attacks as a preventive measure against Iran's nuclear program.
