Local cinema chain operator, MBO Cinemas Sdn Bhd, announced the permanent termination of its operations after almost five years of returning to the local entertainment industry.
In an official statement, the company expressed its gratitude to customers who have supported MBO Cinemas' journey and made the cinema a part of their cinematic experience.
According to the statement, every moment shared with the audience, from the cheers in a packed hall to the emotional scenes of the film, has become a meaningful memory for the company.
MBO Cinemas previously closed all its operations in Malaysia in 2020 following the huge impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the cinema industry.
The following year, the cinema chain resumed operations under new management after Golden Screen Cinemas (GSC) took over its assets.
Until this latest closure, MBO Cinemas operated eight cinema branches located in Selangor, Melaka, Perak and Johor.
