“The World Is Now Like a Casino” – Trump

US President Donald Trump has described the current state of the world as increasingly uncertain, likening it to ‘a global casino’ following the increase in betting activities linked to geopolitical events.

According to him, recent developments, including the case involving a US special forces member who was accused of betting on the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, reflect how international issues are now increasingly influenced by gambling and speculation.

Trump said he did not know the details of the case, but would look into it further.

He also made a comparison with the case of American sports legend Pete Rose, who was once removed from the baseball league due to being involved in betting activities, to illustrate how serious the issue is if it occurs in a professional or official institutional context.

When asked about concerns about betting activities linked to conflicts such as in Iran or other geopolitical issues, Trump stressed that the phenomenon is not limited to one country, but rather occurs widely on a global scale.

“The whole world, unfortunately, is now like a casino,” he said, adding that such betting activities are taking place in various places that have access to gambling platforms or prediction markets.

In his statement, Trump also stressed that he did not support the trend and described it as a worrying development in today’s global landscape.
