Malaysian franchise participation at the Indonesia Franchise and Licensing Expo (FLEI) 2026 in Jakarta has been a resounding success, with an impressive sales value potential of RM89.4 million.

The prestigious expo, which runs for four days from 7 to 10 May 2026, not only serves as a platform to showcase Malaysian products and services, but also strengthens Indonesia’s position as a key strategic market for local franchise brands.

This success is the result of collective efforts and strong strategic collaboration between three key entities, namely the Malaysian External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), the Ministry of Entrepreneur and Cooperative Development (KUSKOP) and Perbadanan Nasional Bhd.

This collaboration ensured that the Malaysian delegation, consisting of 10 selected companies, received strong support and optimized access to the Indonesian market.

One of the critical factors behind this achievement was the proactive organization of over 300 business meetings by the MATRADE Indonesia office. These intensive business matching sessions successfully connected Malaysian franchise brands with local partners and investors in Indonesia, facilitating the process of exploring investment opportunities and market expansion.

MATRADE Trade Commissioner Suresh Kumar highlighted that the strong appeal of the Indonesian market is driven by high domestic demand.

He highlighted that Indonesian consumers are very interested in Malaysian business concepts that offer a combination of essential values, guaranteed quality, affordable prices, and a proven scalable model. Sectors that recorded the highest interest included the food and beverage (F&B), education, and lifestyle segments.

The delegation of 10 participating companies represented a broad spectrum of sectors, demonstrating the diversity and maturity of the Malaysian franchise industry.

Well-known brands involved included education operators such as Artivo, Findbulous, and ILUVQURAN, while the food and beverage sector was represented by popular names such as Mee Hiris China Muslim, Dapur Mama Original Nasi Kukus, 1901, and Dsara Fried Chicken.

Also participating are brands in other lifestyle and retail sectors such as Midyson, Bonda, and Shariah-compliant financial services Ar-Rahn.

Proof of the immediate success of the expo is the anticipated signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by ILUVQURAN with an Indonesian investor, indicating that the business meeting immediately translated into concrete and positive outcomes.

This RM89.4 million potential reinforces the belief that the Indonesian market will continue to be a major growth hub for Malaysian franchises in the years to come.
