The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) announced a 4.1% dividend for the SSPN Savings scheme for the financial year ending 31 December 2025, thus recording the highest rate in 11 years.
The total dividend distribution reached RM505.68 million which will benefit 6.07 million depositors. This figure increased compared to RM439.87 million in the previous year, when the dividend rate was 4.05%.
This performance was driven by a prudent investment strategy and more strategic asset allocation, with a focus on capital preservation and competitive returns.
The SSPN Savings Fund generates returns through sharia-compliant investments in the domestic money market and sukuk instruments for short and long term periods.
SSPN Savings is a government-backed education savings scheme, aimed at helping Malaysians plan their finances for higher education. Historically, the scheme's dividend rate has ranged from 2.5% to 4.25%.
Products under this scheme include Simpan SSPN Prime which focuses on basic education savings, as well as Simpan SSPN Plus which combines savings and takaful protection elements with monthly contributions. Depositors are also eligible to enjoy individual income tax relief of up to RM8,000 per year.
Throughout 2025, Simpan SSPN recorded a total deposit of RM3.33 billion, up from RM3.17 billion in 2024. This brings the total accumulated deposits to RM23.88 billion, with more than 500,000 new accounts opened throughout the year.
With this latest distribution, the total amount of dividends paid since the scheme's inception in 2004 now reaches RM2.63 billion.
Depositors can check their respective dividend distributions via the myPTPTN application starting May 7.
