Iran sees the easing of sanctions on its energy sector as a new opportunity to strengthen economic cooperation with Malaysia, especially in the oil, gas and petrochemical industries.
This development is expected to open up more space for companies from both countries to establish commercial cooperation and enhance trade relations in the future.
Iranian Ambassador to Malaysia, Valiollah Mohammadi Nasrabadi, said there are no longer any obstacles for other countries to buy oil and energy products from Iran.
According to him, this situation allows Malaysian companies, including Petronas, to hold technical discussions and negotiations with Iranian energy companies to explore potential business opportunities.
He described this situation as a new door to strengthen economic relations between the two countries.
He also explained that Malaysia and Iran have long had good relations in various fields such as politics, culture, science and technology.
With the easing of sanctions, he is confident that economic relations between the two countries will also be able to grow more rapidly, especially in the energy sector, which is one of Iran's main strengths.
At the same time, Valiollah announced that the negotiations following the ceasefire between Iran and the United States will continue for 60 days.
The negotiations aim to rebuild trust between the two parties and ensure that every commitment agreed upon can be implemented properly.
The success of these negotiations is expected to have a positive impact on Iran's economic stability and trade with other countries.
In addition, he also expressed his appreciation to the Malaysian government and Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, for the support given to Iran during the recent conflict.
According to him, the Iranian people appreciate Malaysia's stance which always prioritizes diplomatic relations and friendship.
With this development, economic cooperation between Malaysia and Iran is expected to have greater potential in the future.
