For the Golden Week holiday period from September 26 to October 11, the airline expects to carry over 52,000 passengers to and from China, a 21% increase compared to the previous year.

Malaysia Airlines Expands China Network

To meet rising demand, Malaysia Airlines has reinstated daily flights to Chengdu and increased flight frequencies to Shenzhen and Changsha.

This move brings the total number of destinations served by Malaysia Airlines in China to nine, including Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Xiamen.

Digital Partnerships to Attract Chinese Tourists

Malaysia Airlines is also strengthening its presence in China through partnerships with Huawei, Weixin Pay, and TravelSky Technology.

These collaborations aim to make it easier for Chinese tourists to search for and book flights, access travel information, and interact with Malaysia Airlines via digital platforms they are familiar with.

Meanwhile, the airline Firefly also plans to launch daily flights between Kuala Lumpur and Kunming, subject to regulatory approval.

With Kuala Lumpur as its main hub, Malaysia Airlines aims to make it easier for Chinese tourists to explore Malaysia as well as other destinations across ASEAN, South Asia, Australia, and New Zealand.
