BTC & XRP Forecast: US Economic Data in Focus

thecekodok

Bitcoin and XRP are showing signs of recovery on the daily chart after trading within a relatively narrow range over the past few sessions.

The movements of both crypto assets could be influenced by US economic data—specifically the jobs report—which has the potential to shift market expectations regarding the Federal Reserve's (Fed) interest rate trajectory.

Based on the daily chart for October 2, 2026, Bitcoin is trading around US$85,747, while XRP stands at US$1.5235.

Both assets remain above key moving averages, indicating a generally positive trend, although selling pressure could emerge near resistance levels.

Bitcoin Remains Strong; US$86,000 Marks Immediate Resistance

BTCUSD chart by Saracen Markets

Bitcoin rose approximately 1.05% to US$85,747 on the daily chart, with the price strengthening after several sessions of sideways movement.

However, Bitcoin still needs to break through the resistance zone between US$86,000 and US$86,800 to solidify its upward momentum.

From a technical standpoint, Bitcoin's price remains above key moving averages at US$78,147, US$71,379, and US$70,764.

This indicates an overall positive trend, despite the potential for short-term price volatility.

Immediate support levels lie between US$85,000 and US$84,500.

If selling pressure intensifies and the price drops below this zone, Bitcoin could potentially test the US$83,000 level. Conversely, a strong breakout above US$86,800 could pave the way for a rise towards US$88,000.

XRP Recovers; US$1.55 Level in Focus

XRP has also shown signs of recovery, rising approximately 1.99% to US$1.5235. The price has reclaimed the psychological US$1.50 level after trading weakly in previous sessions.

From a technical standpoint, XRP remains above key moving averages at US$1.3774, US$1.2796, and US$1.2279.

This positioning indicates that the overall trend still supports upward movement, though the price must maintain momentum to avoid a renewed decline.

Immediate support lies in the US$1.50 to US$1.4850 range.

If the price holds above this zone, XRP could potentially test resistance at US$1.55, followed by US$1.60.

However, a drop below US$1.4850 could open the door for a more significant correction.

US Jobs Data Could Trigger Volatility

Market attention is focused on the US jobs report for September, scheduled for release on Friday, October 2, at 8:30 AM New York time (8:30 PM Malaysia time).

The data covers non-farm payrolls, the unemployment rate, and wage growth.

Economists surveyed by Reuters anticipate an increase of approximately 90,000 non-farm jobs, while the unemployment rate is expected to remain at 4.1%.

If the jobs data comes in stronger than expected, the US dollar and US bond yields could rise, as the market might assess that the Federal Reserve needs to maintain a tight monetary policy. This situation could limit gains for Bitcoin and XRP. Conversely, weaker data could support risk assets if it boosts expectations for a loosening of Fed policy.

Since tomorrow is Saturday, no major US monthly jobs report is scheduled for that day.

However, the market's reaction to tonight's data could still influence cryptocurrency movements throughout the weekend.
