XRP showed signs of weakness after falling below the US$1.50 level on Thursday, extending a correction from its September high of around US$1.66.
At the time of writing, XRP was trading at US$1.4995, up 0.38% since the opening of the Asian session on Friday.
This movement occurred as Bitcoin and Ethereum also struggled to sustain their upward momentum.
US$1.50 Becomes a Key Level for XRP
XRP needs to reclaim the US$1.50 level to strengthen its short-term recovery prospects.
Failure to break back above this level could lead to continued price weakness, with US$1.48 serving as the next psychological support level to watch.
If selling pressure persists and pushes XRP below US$1.48, the risk of further correction will increase.
XRP ETF Inflows Stall
Institutional demand via US-listed spot XRP ETFs has begun to show signs of slowing; the products recorded no new inflows on Tuesday and Wednesday, following five consecutive days of inflows.
Nevertheless, total cumulative inflows remain close to US$1.8 billion, while the ETFs' net assets stand at approximately US$1.7 billion.
These developments indicate that institutional investor interest remains, though recent buying momentum has decelerated.
A return to positive inflows could help support the XRP price should selling pressure begin to subside.
XRP Open Interest Rises
The derivatives market showed a slightly positive trend, with Open Interest (OI) for XRP futures contracts rising to 2.39 billion XRP on Thursday, up from 2.33 billion XRP the previous day.
Open Interest refers to the total number of outstanding contracts in the futures market. This increase indicates rising trading activity, though it does not necessarily signal that traders are taking long positions.
Movements in Open Interest (OI) alongside price must be monitored to assess whether market interest is supporting a recovery or intensifying selling pressure.
Crypto Sentiment Remains in 'Greed' Zone
The crypto Fear & Greed Index rose to 74 on Thursday—up from 71 the previous day—thereby remaining within the 'Greed' zone.
This reading indicates that investor sentiment toward digital assets remains generally positive and the appetite for risk stays high.
However, positive sentiment does not guarantee a price rally if actual buying demand remains weak.
XRP continues to face pressure after dropping below US$1.50, with US$1.48 serving as the immediate support level that must hold.
A recovery above US$1.50 could pave the way for further gains, but momentum requires fresh buying demand and a return to positive ETF inflows.
Conversely, a breakdown below US$1.48 could heighten the risk of a prolonged correction, particularly if weakness in Bitcoin also weighs on crypto market sentiment.
