Samsung Electronics is set to bring stablecoin usage closer to mainstream consumers by integrating Solana-based USDC into Samsung Wallet in the United States.
The feature is expected to launch in the final week of October 2026, allowing Galaxy users to send cross-border payments using USDC directly through Samsung Wallet, without the need for a dedicated crypto app.
Solana Brought Directly to Samsung Wallet
Users in the US will be able to make transfers using USDC via the same Samsung Wallet interface used for cards, boarding passes, and IDs.
Solana's infrastructure will operate behind the scenes, while fiat-to-USDC exchange functions (and vice versa) are integrated to streamline transactions.
At launch, the feature is expected to be available on approximately 82 million Galaxy devices in the US, with other markets potentially following suit, subject to local regulations.
Solana Stablecoin Usage Continues to Rise
Samsung's integration comes as stablecoin activity on the Solana network continues to grow.
The stablecoin supply on Solana has increased by nearly 20% year-over-year, and the network has processed over US$5.25 trillion in stablecoin volume throughout 2026.
Major companies like PayPal and Western Union are also utilizing Solana for stablecoin-related activities, demonstrating the network's expanding adoption beyond the crypto ecosystem.
Samsung Opens Access to Mainstream Users
This partnership grants Solana access to a vastly larger user base without requiring users to have a direct understanding of blockchain technology.
If USDC usage via Samsung Wallet grows, the volume of stablecoin transactions on the Solana network could see a significant increase.
This development could also solidify Solana's position as a leading network for stablecoin payments and transfers, particularly as more technology and financial companies begin integrating blockchain into everyday products.
