The European Union (EU) chief executive on Wednesday reported that there had been significant progress in the Brexit negotiations but at the same time warned that there was no ‘no deal’ in the negotiations.

Britain and the EU are now in the final stages of agreeing to the terms discussed to ensure trade is carried out without tariffs or quotas beginning in 2021.

According to the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, the coming days will be decisive on the direction of trade between the UK and the EU. At the same time Leyen also stressed that the European Union is ready to face a ‘no deal’ situation but an agreement in the agreement is something that is highly expected.

Leyen also stated that the EU is firm in responding to these trade negotiations and will mobilize all efforts to reach an agreement.

The consultants reportedly agreed to a number of outlines of partnership agreements in goods and services, as well as transportation. Thus it can be said that ‘significant progress’ has been achieved in issues ranging from judicial cooperation to the benefits provided.

An unnamed EU official said the decision was possible but the decision would not be reached before this week. However, if an agreement cannot be reached next week on the 3 main issues that are in dispute then the preparatory plan without agreement will be updated.
