UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been given a one-day deadline to respond to European Union (EU) legal action on the controversial issue of the EU market bill.
A one day period is given and it can determine the course of the Brexit trade negotiations. The EU through the president of the European Commission, Ursula Von Der Leyen has demanded from the UK to provide feedback on the Bill in which the UK has replaced key parts of the UK withdrawal Agreement from the EU.
It is reported that if the UK Prime Minister does not respond in a timely manner then the EU will continue to make claims by taking legal action against the UK as stated by Leyen.
This development will affect EU-UK agreement negotiations but it is important that there are no issues in post-Brexit trade. Now there are only a few weeks left before the Brexit transition deadline!
However, von der leyen commented that negotiations so far are running smoothly and show progress. But there are still differences on fisheries issues.
