GBP / USD Optimist Investors Still Have a Chance to a Higher Level

The US dollar is the currency with the lowest performance towards trading this weekend while the market in the United States (US) slowed in conjunction with the Thanksgiving celebration.

US dollar trading still revolves around vaccine sentiment with the latest developments reported that AstraZeneca has announced they will conduct a recent global test to assess the effectiveness of vaccines against candidates.

The situation of Coronavirus transmission in the US is out of control after the emergence of the second wave of the pandemic, leaving investors to expect the worst possible probability if the vaccine development returns negatively.

While the US dollar is weakening at the moment, other major currencies have room to strengthen their respective values.

The focus is also on the Pound Sterling currency which has indicators that will support its strengthening despite the still-on-the-road risk of Brexit.

Michel Barnier as the Brexit Consultant of the European Union (EU) will hold a meeting with several countries involved to resolve fisheries and water issues that are still a barrier to negotiations to this day.

These factors will have a short-term strengthening effect on the Pound as well as price increases on the GBP / USD currency pair chart.

If you look at this week's trading on the GBP / USD chart, the price has risen to the high of the resistance level of 1.34000 which is a 2-month high.

But the price is seen to fail to break the resistance to a higher level after being tested several times.

In today's Asian session trading (Friday), the price is still showing an increase and will test again the resistance of 1.34000 with the expectation that the price that breaks through it will lead to a higher level at 1.35000.

However, if a price decline occurs, the 1.33000 support level in the RBS zone (resistance become support) will be tested before a lower decline below that zone will signal the beginning of a bearish price trend.
