Malaysia Has "Deal" With China For Vaccines!

Malaysia expressed that it has signed an agreement with China to cooperate on the development of a safe and effective vaccine, as part of the effort to fight the Covid-19 pandemic.

Under the agreement, within 5 years, Southeast Asian countries will be given priority access to the Covid-19 vaccine developed by China. Both will share knowledge and expertise and facilitate scientific and technological efforts to advance vaccine development in their countries.

Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin signed the agreement with his Chinese counterpart Wang Zhigang in an online assembly.

In addition, cooperation between Malaysia and China under the agreement will be overseen by a committee chaired by foreign ministers from the two countries which was formed in October to deal with post-pandemic challenges.

In addition to that, the two countries will also support the inclusion of their public and private sectors including universities, community institutions and several organizations in joint cooperation projects.
