The U.S. House of Representatives has finally approved a $ 900 billion coronavirus relief package as part of a government effort to help support the economy and the people affected by the coronavirus pandemic.
During the voting process this morning (Malaysian time), policymakers also approved a $ 1.4 trillion stimulus move to fund the government for another year.
Both bills that have been passed will be sent to the U.S. Senate for a vote, which is also expected to get approval easily.
If approved by the Senate, it will then be handed over to President Donald Trump for signing and turning into law.
The White House has previously said that President Trump is ready to sign the bill.
The bill includes a direct payment of $ 600 as well as additional payments as unemployment assistance to affected Americans.
The market, however, was less impressed with the news of this approval with most major currencies showing little change in Asian session trading.
