Twitter ‘RESET’ US Presidential Account

US President-elect Joe Biden needs to start from the bottom, gather his followers on Twitter as the number of followers of the official @POTUS account will be eliminated immediately as soon as there is a transfer of power.

The social media site will not transfer 33.2 million current followers @POTUS (President Of The United States) when Biden takes office on January 20, 2021.

This also affected several official U.S. government accounts, such as the official White House account (26 million followers), the official deputy president Mike Pence's current account (10.3 million followers) and the first U.S. female official account (16.4 million followers).

Decisions taken by Twitter, Inc. clearly contradicts previous social networking policies because during US President Donald Trump’s administration of the country in 2017, Twitter transferred the number of followers without maintaining tweets throughout the Barrack Obama administration.

The @POTUS account run by Trump over the past four years will be archived with the new username @ POTUS45, as was the case with the POTUS Obama @ POTUS44 account.

Meanwhile, Biden's official Twitter account has 21.7 million followers.

However, Twitter has informed that all followers of the official accounts will receive a notification about the change.

Twitter also did not comment further, explaining the action was clearly different from four years ago.
